Inspiration for SparrowWoodworks was nurtured slowly over time from an ever re-occuring wonder and meditation on this glorious truth… the Creator God — who established the foundations of the earth with such wisdom, fixed the mighty mountains by His strength, and calls the dawn to rise each morning — this Creator God knows and cares even for the birds of the air that cry out to Him. How can a man fathom the union of such a great juxtaposition? Divine power and transcendent meekness. 

It leads to worship. 

More than this, how could a Holy and magnificent Creator God then condescend to dwell with man? The One who placed each star in the heavens would embrace lepers, pursue the outcast, dine with tax collectors, and take up the towel to wash the feet of sinners. The radiance of the glory of God had ultimately appeared in Jesus – the Word made flesh. 

He is the One of whom all scripture had been pointing toward and awaiting since the Fall of man. The Light of the World had entered into the darkness and fixed His eyes toward Jerusalem — where, as planned before the foundations of the earth, he would lay down his life in love and drink the cup of wrath in the place of God-hating rebels. He who holds all authority in heaven and earth took his life back up again, and for those who are in Christ, they too will be raised with him to a glorious and imperishable inheritance. This is the gospel.
