Birds

Each bird is hand drawn on naturally colorful, thin poplar and black walnut veneers, carefully cut, shaped, torched to enhance the grain and create shadows, and finished with a warm satin product.

It was a pleasure collaborating with Carrie on a piece that captured the beauty of Lake Michigan’s shoreline and sand dunes in a unique and antique way. The layers involved in creating such a dimensional scene became a challenging and rewarding task. The frame was designed to resemble a framed photograph print with a wide matte and stepped layers that would also complement the cabinets and furniture in her home.

Spalted Maple Desk

Spalted maple wood is known for its visually striking and unpredictable grain, making each slab completely unique.

This desk was finished with a high quality grade wood sealant to enhance the natural beauty of the wood and protect against time and use.

American Flags

My process for creating these flags has been refined over the years. They are made from a sturdy Maple and Mahogany. Each stripe is strategically  torched to bring out the unique grain and create an aged-looking texture, every star is placed with precision.

Coffee table

This build implemented a variation of Mahogany, Maple, Poplar, and Oak.
